Miracle Magazine

Miracle Magazine continues as usual to be a good and close friend to thousands and thousands of Albanian kids.

The “Miracle” magazine is now in its 14 th year of publishing. With all its numerous difficulties and obstacles we still continue to distribute it in the elementary schools of Albania.

“Miracle” magazine opens new windows to her readers with all the versatile information it offers. Besides, near the end of each school year we organize a competition in prose, poetry and painting where special prizes are awarded. The ceremony was organized in one of the schools of the capital.

A lot of letters come to our office and often it is difficult to choose the best ones.

Bathore Project

Our project in Bathore (an informal area in Tirana) is currently one of our most important projects of 2006 and 2007. We have a center there called “Hope”.

At the facility there we are running the following programs:

Literacy and material help

Right now there are 10 literacy groups with about 130 people total

Their social life became somewhat different, for the literacy classes also brought these people together, and there they had the opportunity to share a lot of their worries and joys. Meanwhile they had separate meetings, or the children had various games organized, above all, they could have their football matches in a real football field.

In October many of the literacy students as well as many from the Bathore community joined our Alpha Courses and the Miracle Club program. Their lives have become richer spiritually. They love to hear about God and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.

On Christmas Eve, each of them received a beautiful surprise shoebox filled with very nice gifts, sent to them, with love, from friends they did not know and had never heard of before. There were two trucks this year with Christmas shoe boxes, footwear, clothes, etc.

Meanwhile, we have also had funds to purchase food locally for the needy people. About 350 people have received monthly either food parcels or clothes. Besides we have distributed Christmas shoeboxes not only to the needy people but to many children in the elementary schools of the country as well as to our Miracle Club kids. 

• 8 Alpha Courses with about 160 women and young girls. In 2006 we became the Alpha resource publishers for Albania. We have already translated in standard Albanian several titles from the Alpha resources and also had them printed.

• Food program: most of the funds arrived in 2006 but will be used in 2007 for a three month food program for widows and orphan kids as well as elderly people. About 100 people divided in two groups. (Actually is running now in 20 - 10 Community development classes with about180 adults and 100 kids.

• Two Miracle Clubs with 40 kids each

• Youth meetings in which 32 teenagers participate

 

Vacation Bible School

VBS is one week event. Each club has the VBS in their own church. They meet all together on the last day where they worship the Lord, rejoice, pray, get to know new friends etc. The teachers get really encouraged during these days. The kids are eager to participate in any activity organized for them. They love to sing Hallelujah, to worship God and to pray. They feel so proud when they tell to others about the miracles of Jesus.

Outreaches and Events

Our Miracle Club teachers go to different cities and churches to help the local church to evangelize the kids of the area they are working. They prepare a special program with dramas, songs with movements, clowns, games, bible stories etc to show to the kids the Gospel and to introduce them with our savior Jesus Christ.

Again in 2006 we ran 6 Miracle Clubs plus 2 included in the Bathore project. This year we had two Christmas Celebration events: one in Tirana with all the 6 clubs coming together as well as other children. Where as the second meeting was organized in our center in Bathore. The children meet twice a month and are usually attached to a church. The kids learn about Jesus and the Bible through stories, games, competitions etc.

Also we will be organizing excursions for the women & children of Bathore in 2007 because of an earnest request from them to see something out of their normal environment. This will be possible because we were blessed by donations this year that will help us to fund this as will as several other outreaches with children not only in Tirana but in other towns and villages as well.
